What happens at your child's sports physio appointment?
Because children aren't just little adults
We know parents want answers, reassurance and a clear plan.
1. Understanding the injury
We talk with you and your child about their pain, how the injury happened, their training schedule and what's been affecting their sport or everyday activities.
2. Movement and injury assessment
Your physiotherapist assesses relevant movement, strength, flexibility, balance and function to better understand the problem.
3. A plan tailored to your child
We'll discuss our findings and recommend appropriate management, which may include exercises, activity modifications, rehabilitation or further assessment where indicated.
4. Working towards their sporting goals
When ongoing support is needed, we help your child progressively build the movement skills, strength and confidence required for their activities.
With your consent, we can also communicate with coaches to support appropriate training modifications and return-to-sport planning.
Helping young athletes return to the sports they love
Whether your child participates in netball, football, basketball, gymnastics, dance, athletics or another sport, their recovery should reflect the movements and demands of their activity.
Our physiotherapy support may include:
Strength and mobility exercises
Balance, coordination and movement retraining
Running, jumping and landing mechanics
Graduated loading and sport-specific rehabilitation
Return-to-training and return-to-sport planning
Strategies for managing training demands during growth
Our aim is to support a safe, individualised progression back to meaningful participation, rather than simply focusing on whether pain has settled.
Whether it's knee pain after netball, a rolled ankle at football, heel pain during gymnastics or an injury that keeps coming back, we're here to help.
At Lifespan Therapies, our paediatric physiotherapists understand that growing athletes aren't just little adults.
We provide individualised sports injury assessments, rehabilitation and return-to-sport support for children and teenagers across Brisbane Northside and Moreton Bay.
Kids Injury Appointments
Helping young athletes recover from injury, manage growing pains and get back to doing what they love.
They aren’t little adults — their rehabilitation shouldn’t be either.
Our goal is not only to settle pain. We look at strength, mobility, balance, coordination, growth stage, training load and the specific movements required for your child’s sport, then build rehabilitation back toward real sporting demands.
