Additional Training

Georgia Black

My name is Georgia, and I am the Discipline Lead Occupational Therapist at Lifespan Therapies. I graduated from Australian Catholic University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy and have since worked with children across a wide range of ages, diagnoses, and highly individualised goals.

I support children to develop skills across fine motor function, upper limb use, play, social engagement, attention, problem solving, emotional regulation, and functional participation, including self-care, routines, cooking, and community access. My clinical focus is grounded in promoting meaningful participation in daily life and empowering children to engage in their most important roles and occupations.

I have a strong interest in neurodevelopment and motor development, with experience working with children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and complex physical presentations. I have undertaken further training in NISE-Stim (Level 1 and Level 2 trained), TASES, Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) Levels A and B, and the Pediasuit Method. I also have a particular interest in assistive technology and postural support to enhance functional independence and participation. I also love delivering intensive therapy programs and seeing the incredible effort children put in over a short period of time to make such noticeable gains in their skills and confidence.

I am passionate about working collaboratively with families and place a strong emphasis on Occupational Performance Coaching (OPC) approaches, recognising that the most meaningful change happens outside the clinic room. I aim to equip families with practical strategies and confidence to support their child’s development in everyday environments.

Outside of work, I love travelling, camping, visiting markets, and anything that gets my adrenaline pumping (I am a big thrill seeker). I have two pugs who share my love for food and the outdoors, so you will often find us walking along the waterfront or exploring the markets together.
